Brooms Away
Author: D.A. Kelly
Narrator: Samantha Norbury
Arabella Black is just a normal human woman, living a normal human life with her Maine coon cat Harvey, when she is suddenly swept away by said cat (and a brownie who lives in her shower drain) to a fantasy world filled with mystery and intrigue. Turns out, she’s not human at all, but a cross between a banshee and a dryad, which would explain her ability to see spirits. Her sister is missing and she is the only one who can help find her. Every person she meets is a possible suspect and teasing out the whole mystery is quite the undertaking.
I enjoyed this novel quite a bit. There are many interesting characters and the mystery is well-done and permeates the story throughout. Definitely a good read and I’m excited for the second one in the series!
Narrator Samantha Norbury did a phenomenal job with this reading. There were so many characters, and fantasy ones at that, that needed to be voiced and she was able to make it easy to follow while listening along.
